Daugavpils group Deti Granta ('Grant's Children') was one of the most vivid phenomena of the local underground scene at the turn of the 1990s and 2000s. The band stood out with an explosive fusion of ska-punk, punk rock, and satirical folk revelry, powered by a brass and accordion section and hip-hop turntablism scratches.

The lineup brought together iconic figures of the Dvinsk underground: charismatic frontman Vantuz (lead vocals), guitarists Goblin and Chuven, bassist and revered recording engineer of countless Daugavpils rock records Konstantīns Dzedzelis (Dzedzel), multi-instrumentalist Stas (accordion, trumpet, scratches), and drummer Oleg Samsonov. In 2001, the band recorded their legendary self-titled album, which circulated widely on cassettes and MP3 across Latvia. The record featured raucous punk adaptations of folk and pop anthems (including Ukrainian folk classic 'Ty zh mene pidmanula', 'Marquise', and A-ha's 'Take On Me') alongside cult original tracks like 'Kosmodrom', 'Dunula', and 'Ostav telefon'.
