During the great stagnation in the city of Daugavpils in the years of "perestroika", when there was, put simply, nowhere to go to hear rock music, young guys from the "youth vocal-instrumental ensemble of the Pioneers' House" - Sergei Ermolaev and Ruslan Kondrus (Godblin) - decided in 1992 to start a rock band called Dvinsk. Bass guitarist Oleg Koschinsky joined them later. The guys started rehearsing at School No. 15, where they gave their first concert. At the end of 1992 Gennady Kuzmin (Kuzya) joined the band. After that the group moved to rehearse in the building of the old airport. The question of putting on concerts by themselves came up, since at that time nobody in Daugavpils was organizing local rock band concerts. An offer came from the administration of RTU, where Sergei and Oleg were studying at the time, to provide a rehearsal space as well as an assembly hall for concerts. Since the band wanted to record a tape album, they accepted the offer.
In 1993 the band Dvinsk recorded their first album, called "Карманный Мир" (Pocket World), and held its presentation at RTU. Some time later, since a lot of people had come to that first concert, they decided to put on a festival with several local bands taking part: Neisseria, Imago, and others.
In 1994 bass guitarist Koschinsky decided to move back to his ethnic homeland. His place in the band was taken by Vadim Nemenushchy (Vader). That same year, at the TsLK studio (sound engineer Andrei Proshchenko), the band recorded their second album, "Pease Waiting".
